Welcome to AlarmZ — the alarm clock designed for heavy sleepers who actually need to wake up.

Getting Started

What is AlarmZ?

AlarmZ is an alarm clock built for heavy sleepers and people who regularly oversleep.

Unlike traditional alarms that can be dismissed half-asleep, AlarmZ requires you to complete wake-up tasks before the alarm stops — ensuring you're actually awake.

How does it work?

1. Set your alarm and choose a wake-up time

2. Select one or more wake-up missions

3. Choose a difficulty level (Easy, Medium, Hard)

4. When the alarm fires, complete all selected missions to dismiss it

5. If missions are not completed, the alarm repeats until they are

Wake-Up Missions

Math Burst

Solve a series of math problems within a time limit. Difficulty affects problem complexity and time allowed.

Odd One Out

Identify the different emoji in a grid. Multiple rounds must be completed to stop the alarm.

Emoji Hunt

Tap the target emoji before time runs out. Emoji positions change each round to prevent memorization.

Squats

Complete a set number of squats using your phone's camera to detect movement. The alarm won't stop until all reps are done.

Pushups

Complete a set number of pushups detected via your phone's camera. Designed to get your body moving and blood pumping.

Can I select multiple missions?

Yes. You can select one, multiple, or all available missions.

Permissions & Requirements

Why does AlarmZ need AlarmKit permission?

AlarmKit is Apple's alarm system for iOS 26+. It allows AlarmZ to:

- Fire alarms reliably

- Override Focus and Do Not Disturb modes

- Schedule alarms similar to the built-in Clock app

AlarmKit permission is required for alarms to function.

Why does AlarmZ need Notification permission?

Notifications are used to:

- Deliver alarm alerts

- Send verification reminders

- Provide background reminders when needed

Do alarms work with Focus or Do Not Disturb?

Yes. AlarmKit alarms automatically override Focus and Do Not Disturb modes.

Important: App Background Behavior

AlarmZ requires the app to remain available in the background to:

- Display mission screens

- Track mission completion

- Re-trigger alarms if missions are not completed or alarm is dismissed

What happens if I force-quit the app?

- Active alarms stop immediately

- The alarm will not repeat

- You may oversleep

For normal use, avoid force-quitting the app after setting an alarm.

If I accidentally force-quit, what should I do?

Reopen the app. Your alarms remain saved and will function normally once the app is running again.

This feature is a promotional discount and not a gambling mechanic.

Troubleshooting

My alarm didn't go off

Check the following:

1. The app was force-quit

2. AlarmKit permission is disabled

3. Notifications are disabled

4. The device was powered off

5. The alarm was set for the wrong time or day

The alarm is too quiet

If the alarm volume is too low:

1. Open the alarm setup screen in AlarmZ and adjust the volume slider

2. Preview the sound to confirm the selected volume

3. Open iPhone Settings → Sounds & Haptics

4. Increase the Ringtone and Alerts volume

AlarmZ uses the system ringer volume. The alarm will play at the volume set in Sounds & Haptics when it fires.

The alarm keeps repeating

This is intentional.

The alarm repeats until all selected missions are completed.

I can't complete the missions

- Lower the difficulty

- Select fewer missions

- Practice missions while fully awake

The app crashed during an alarm

- Reopen the app immediately

- The alarm will continue attempting to fire

- Complete missions to stop it

- Submit a bug report if this happens repeatedly

Cross-Device Sync

- Subscription status syncs across devices using the same Apple ID

- Alarms themselves do not sync between devices

Settings & Customization

- 12-hour / 24-hour time format

- Optional background reminders
